Lincrusta Georgian Panel Projects

How To Panel Walls Authentically Using Lincrusta Georgian Panel

Lincrusta Georgian Panel design – panelling on a roll – complete with a finely grained wood effect texture, provides a wonderful convincing alternative to the real thing! Lincrusta Georgian Panelling is an ideal solution for adding warmth and character in both period and contemporary interiors alike. Once installed, Lincrusta can be painted in any colour of your choice to suit your style and taste. Curing with age, Lincrusta will last a lifetime. Re-paint as you wish for a fresh new look.

As an Approved Lincrusta Installer, trained to advanced level, Frank uses his expertise to precisely hand trim the panels to fit, creating an authentic panelled effect centred on each wall, pleasing to the eye!

The project photographed below, had several challenges, including working up to the original stone exterior wall of this Cumbrian barn conversion. This involved hand-trimming the end of each row individually, and tapering the panels to fit the contour of the wall. In addition to this, the serving hatch/bar area between the kitchen and dining room has interesting angles and multi-level surfaces to work to, but Frank rose to the challenge, again reducing the size of several panels for a perfect fit.

Frank revisited this home to make a small repair to the panelling following the replacement of the light switches. The customers were delighted with the outcome!

A Recent Lincrusta Georgian Panel Installation
Technical Challenge

The owners of this 1930’s home still have some original Lincrusta panelling in the back hallway, as well as the original Lincrusta frieze. They wanted to re-instate Lincrusta Georgian Panel in the main hallway to be more in-keeping with the style of the house.

Installing Lincrusta Georgian Panel may seem easy because it is supplied on a roll, but a hall, stairs and landing like this one can be a technical challenge! Consuming lots of cups of tea whilst staring at squares, Frank rose to the challenge, accurately cutting panels to follow the pattern along the various angles up the stairs. Frank also precisely measured to elongate or shorten some panels to fit into the corners, centering the pattern for an authentic panelling effect. Once installed, Lincrusta is then painted in a colour of your choice to suit your style.
